And today we are talking about the supervision group “Therapeutic Metaphor as a Tool for Psychologist’s Work”, which is led by Razida Mugallimovna Tkach for the specialists of the project “With the Sun in Every Heart”.
This group is aimed at researching and developing the symbolic and metaphorical thinking of psychologists through the use of metaphor techniques.
“Word and image are two different languages of the psyche. The conscious speaks the language of concrete knowledge and uses words, while the unconscious speaks the language of absolute understanding and uses images. To enter the situation of understanding, a person must master the symbolic language of the unconscious and learn to decipher it for the conscious,” Razida Mughallimovna tells the specialists.
The group work takes place through situation analysis, discussions and brainstorming.
During the group’s work, the participants developed symbolic and metaphorical thinking, analyzed client cases and adopted techniques using therapeutic metaphors for individual practice.
